I have been desperately trying to get back into the right headspace for hockeyverse so here are some Samwell stories for you.
♡: Accidentally falling asleep together
Katara's halfway through her practice quiz when her phone buzzes with a message so important that the sender has opted to override her do not disturb mode. She pauses the exam timer and checks the message - it's from Aang, telling her to get downstairs NOW.
Worried, Katara springs from her seat and springs down the Haus steps. She's expecting to find Aang in the kitchen nursing some sort of pie related injury but finds him grinning in the living room, his phone pointed at the gross green couch.
"Aang, what...?"
"Shh," he whispers, holding a finger to his lips. "Come here."
Frowning, Katara crosses over to the other side of the living room. She has to bite back her smile at the image that greets her: her brother fast asleep on the couch, sitting up straight with Zuko slumped against his side and Suki curled up in his lap. The couch is not big for three hockey players, but the three of them manage to make it work.
Katara pulls out her phone and snaps a few photos of her own. She doesn't know how long it'll take these three dumbasses to realise they're all in love with each other, but she'd love to have some blackmail material for when they do.
This was definitely worth messing up her practice test for.
♛: Sharing a dessert
Teo and Haru have their first date at Annie's.
It's fitting. Neither of them are particularly formal or fancy guys, so a casual lunch in a familiar location suits them both just fine. Teo had anticipated it being a little awkward - hanging out without the comforting buffer of Sokka, Suki, Katara and Zuko - but it turned into one of the nicest meals Teo's ever had. Haru's surprisingly easy to talk to, and he's not bad on the eyes either.
They're quick to agree when the Annie's waitress offers them dessert menus after their meal. Teo hasn't got much of a sweet tooth but he's not willing to head back to the Robotics Frat just yet.
"What kind of desserts do you usually get from here?" Haru asks as they flip through the menus. "I don't usually eat in, so I've never tried any."
"Sokka always makes me share a sundae with him," Teo admits. Haru snorts. "Hey! He calls it the 'Best Friend Sundae'! How am I supposed to say no to that?"
"How indeed," Haru says, still smiling. He's really quite beautiful, with his freckles and his long, straight hair. "Do you wanna share something then? We could get their apple pie? Best to leave the Best Friend Sundae to Sokka, I think."
Teo smiles. "Apple pie sounds great."
