so this is the seblaine thing i started last night because jade was sad and now i'm sad so i came up with a really shitty ending i hope you like it ily

Blaine paced around his bedroom while he waited for his mother to return home with the car. He was insanely nervous, his stomach twisting and turning with each step he took. This was his one chance, his one final chance to act on his feelings and possibly get a boyfriend out of it.

He glanced out his window and saw the familiar green car pull into the driveway, a wide, excited grin spreading on his lips as he pulled his jacket off the desk chair and nearly sprinted down the hallway to the stairs.

“Hi, keys, please,” he said in one breath. His mother raised her eyebrows at him and slowly handed them over, eyes rolling fondly when Blaine snatched them from her hands and ran out the door, a faint “thank you!” coming right before the car door slammed shut.

No. He wasn’t going to chicken out of this. Blaine knew that he wanted to be with him more than anything, and that was what kept him driving to Dalton. The gates to the lacrosse field seemed ten times taller and more daunting this time around, though Blaine knew that they really weren’t much taller than he was, which was saying something.

The lacrosse match was already underway when Blaine arrived, the crowd chattering and cheering while the players ran back and forth across the field. Blaine’s eyes stayed close to completely glued to the field while he hurried over to the bleachers, making sure that he grabbed a spot right up against the sideline.

There he was. Number 17, a bright red ‘Smythe’ spread across the back of his jersey. Even behind the bars of his facemask, he was stunning. Blaine could see a wide, all-encompassing grin spread on his lips, just the thought of it making him grin himself. It was really easy to see how much Sebastian loved to play this sport, considering he had such a beautiful grin while everyone else looked grumpy and almost forced to be on the field.

It was captivating.

Blaine soon realized that he had started leaning against the railing, his chin resting in his elbows with wide, amazed eyes while he watched Sebastian play. A few people around him stared but Blaine paid no attention to it. This was his chance.

Dalton scored not too long after Blaine turned his attention away from the eyes fixed on him. The entire stadium erupted, the cheers loud and excited since Dalton was now on track to winning. Blaine’s breath hitched as his heart felt like it skipped a beat, his stomach swooping. Sebastian had spotted him and was heading right for him, pulling his helmet off, that gorgeous grin only getting bigger.

“Hey there,” Sebastian said once he was in earshot of Blaine, his breath slightly panted. He tilted his head to the side just slightly, eyebrows furrowing in confusion at the look on Blaine’s face. “Are… you okay?”

“What?” Blaine immediately asked. He straightened up and tried to school his expression, failing to calm the wide grin on his face. “Y-Yeah, I’m perfect.”

“Perfect, huh?” Sebastian raised an eyebrow as his small smile became a flirty smirk. Blaine’s knees wobbled a bit and he did his best to cover the slight shiver that ran down his spine. “Seems like that matches the rest of you.”

A soft shade of pink flashed across Blaine’s cheeks. He leaned back on the railing separating the two of them, bringing himself that much closer to him. “Hey,” he said after a moment. “You have to get back there, don’t you?”

Sebastian looked over his shoulder at the players on the sidelines, all huddled around and preparing to get back onto the field. “Yeah,” he sighed, shrugging a bit. “But, I mean, the game shouldn’t take too much longer if you wanted to-”

Blaine was as close as he could manage when Sebastian turned back to look at him, their faces only inches apart. Blaine leaned up on his toes, bringing himself the extra distance to press their lips together. The angle was slightly awkward and it was rushed, but Blaine could feel his heart trying to leap out of his chest, relishing in every moment of how soft and warm Sebastian’s lips were, and how that one moment was a million times better than all the times he’s imagined their first kiss.

Sebastian’s words died in his throat every time he tried to speak, his eyes fluttering open to find Blaine still close to him, a sweet smile on his lips.

“Good luck,” Blaine said softly. “Go win for me, okay?”
