Portugal fires

Guys, I know we’re just a tiny little country on western Europe and I know we’re not that important to the world. A forest fire in Portugal won’t bring the stock market down or anything. There won’t be #prayforpedrogao today nor tomorrow. But 62 people died yesterday and the fire is not under control yet. There are hundreds of (mostly) VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS trying desperately to control the situation. Yeah, we’re that kind of country, one based on our citizens’ goodwill. But our firefighters need help. Our families need help. Dozens of people lost their loved ones, their homes. The work of a lifetime. Our firefighters need water, food and blankets. Our country needs more helicopters and airplanes to help control the fire. I know we’re not London, nor Paris. It was not a terrorist act, just the forces of nature that burned people trying to escape the flames in their cars. I know Syrians and Iraqis and Venezuelans have it worse than us. But if you can find some time to spread the word, try to raise some funds or just send your prayers this way then we would be very grateful. Our brothers and sisters from Spain and France already sent their aid but we’re afraid it’s not enough. Please, please, please, spread the word. And don’t leave us alone. Also, if you live in Portugal leave some goods at your local fire station. Thank you all so so ao much.
