i don't know how to say this without being all 'kids these days' BUT kids do seem more sheltered nowadays regarding reading. all the kids' chapter books are called something like 'sir poops-a-lot and the massive fart' and people are absolutely vehement that a teenager can't read wicked because of its (nonexistent) smut and on threads right now people are seriously having a debate about whether 12 year olds can read ya books. when i was in year seven reading flowers in the attic was a rite of passage and now people are afraid of preteens knowing about the existence of sex.

10/10 no notes. Especially the coddling of Elain. As an elucien, who loves Elain and sees myself in her. I knowwww. Like whenever fellow eluciens like to act like she is above criticism I just keep my mouth shut, cause I am like maybe because I have been Elain that I can see her red flags.

The Nesta situation was it for me, that argument she had with Elain, and Elain crying about it. Like no. You are the one in the wrong, for letting your sister get treated like that, knowing she would not take it if it was you. And even trying to Kiss Azriel when Lucien was in the house. Like yh she doesn’t owe Lucien celibacy because ewww. But at the same time she could have kissed Azriel another time. She’s not stupid enough not to know what could have happened and I need people to understand that. Elain is smarter than we think.They are times she comes of as self centered. And it’s okay for people to point it out. That doesn’t make her any less kind or sweet. Shes just a character with flaws as well.

It‘s so irritating!!! Say one word against Elain and they‘ll come at you with pitchforks. They don’t realize that they make Elain seem very boring and stupid. Criticism doesn‘t always equate to hate. You can love something and acknowledge it‘s faults.

I really don't see genuineness from Elain regarding her sisters. She pretty much had no problem to be held under Nesta's wing and turn away from Feyre until the roles switched. See, I can understand Feyre being harsh to Nesta. People drag Feyre through the mud for like not painting her, when Nesta wasn't a nice to Feyre before. But Elain?? After all Nesta did for her, she comes off as ungrateful to me. The "Coddling" stuff isn't a good enough reason for Elain to ditch Nesta and say these things to her and about her.

Like i've stated, at least with Nesta I felt that she does love Feyre and feels guilty pre- acosf. It doesn't seem so with Elain. I wouldn't even call her kind, more so nice.

I empathize with her when it comes to the mating bond. I can acknowledge that while Elain has every right to persue somebody else, It is a fact that Elain is an adult who had years time to learn about the mating bond and make the decision to reject or at least compromise with Lucien for her own sake. However, this way we wouldn't get an epic love story and a good character arc, so I like how it is. I wonder wether I would've reacted any different with the mating bond (most likely not). And omg, I do NOT want Sjm to punish Elain for disregarding Lucien

Listen, I truly do love the opportunistic Elain. It's how I will be writing her in my remake. My main worry is that it'll be swept under a rug in the upcoming books. I need Elain's lack of action and care to be addressed so that we can get a good arc. I don't want the "Elain is Elain" bs.

I don't have the time at the moment to write a full essay but someone should definitely remind me to write a post later on the phenomenon that is Ratio's assholery being sanded away by well-meaning fans.

In a quest to fight against the "Ratio is a condescending jerk" stereotype from Ratio haters, pro-Ratio fans have now swung too far the other way, making him into a saint who loves everyone, isn't disdainful of failure, and believes every single person can equally pull themselves up out of mediocrity.

None of those things are actually true based on the game itself, where Ratio is, in fact, a judgmental person who struggles to accept the mundanity of those around him, believes in an educational elite, and can be exceptionally condescending, whether he means it or not.

He's a flawed character. His own flaws are absolutely central to his character, in fact. And yet none of his flaws preclude him from being meaningful, nuanced, and likeable.

It's okay that he's not actually that nice.

In defending a character from one extreme ("he's a bad person"), we don't have to jump all the way to the other side ("he's an angel").

He can be a little bit of a dick and still be a great character, promise.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

KAJ wouldn't exist without Kevin.

He's the very strong backbone of the band.

The "glue that keeps it all together" - as Jakob said himself.

As we KNOW and can clearly see:

- He interviews extremely well.

- He's very comfortable in front of any camera or mic.

- He's very warm and personable, funny, open and open-minded. Listen to his Vinterparat and long radio interview if you don't believe me. There are lots of other examples as well and they're everywhere.

- He's actually not overtly shy or reclusive (things would look VERY different if he indeed were). And I don't care about common fanon. It simply doesn't make sense and we have TONS of evidence to the contrary.

- He is extremely intelligent and eloquent (in 3 languages!), looks fantastic and has a very pleasant voice.

If Kevin CHOOSES to skip an event or an appearance, that's fine.

What's NOT fine is:

- Ignoring him.

- Mistreating him.

- Personally insulting him.

Swedish media has done all three.

For no reason.

He has done NOTHING to deserve this!

And I am BEYOND sick and tired of it always being swept under the rug.

HE MATTERS JUST AS MUCH!

If the publicity he gets isn't on the same level as the publicity every other band member gets, then there's something VERY wrong.

He wasn't even asked to comment on the individual achievements of his two band mates.

So even when they're already in the spotlight, no one reaches out to him for comment.

All of this CAN'T be his fault.

It makes no logical sense.

If you say, "Everyone can/should do X (protest in the streets/do ICE watch in person/call their legislators/etc.)," and I ask, "Oh, you think people with severe disabilities can do that? You think five-year-olds can do that? You think my grandma who has dementia, uses a walker, and doesn't have a phone can do that?" I am NOT engaging in whataboutism.

I am asking whether your idea of "everyone" includes disabled people, children, and elderly folks (who are often also disabled).
