1: Yuna Final Fantasy X
I'm always inclined to get attached to characters who are gentle, melancholy but strong willed. Yuna's entire characterization is just beautifully written in that regard.
2: Luo Binghe Scum Villain's Self Saving System
Hands down one of my favorite portrayals of very human wants (the awkward, sad and humiliating included) he bares himself desperately for the person he adores. There's something just very human about him and I understand why Shen Qinqiu wants to protect that and loves him. At any rate the entire book title is interesting in hindsight I believe with how he views himself and wanting to be the one saved.
3: Katniss Everdeen
Her sentimentality while she is desperate for survival always makes me cry. She loves and admires people that are soft while thinking she can never be that when she is.
4: Zelos Wilder Tales of Symphonia
Fascinating character that hides a lot of melancholy under lies, jokes and a lot of nihilism. But again another character that really is desperate to be proven right about admiring a softer and idealistic person while struggling with general dislike of how cruel people are and his own apathy to that.
5:Kagome Higurashi
It girl for me forever and always. She isn't special she's a normal girl but she still tries so hard and is able to persevere while admitting to her own faults and shortcomings.
6: Janus Cascade Wild Arms 3
Total hedonist who knows that lifestyle isn't worth it, but continues to live as he does out of spite against the concept of justice. His guilt for surviving while committing cruelties is fascinating when he juxtaposed Virginia in the game.
7: Luke Fon Fabre Tales of the Abyss
The ultimate sad boy. Again I am just very drawn to characters that have very little expectations in the world due to the small cruelties in the world. Luke is desperate to be a good person for multiple reasons, to change, to be loved, to be someone that can be loved, all while believing he stole life, and feeling guilty that he still may be considered selfish for wanting to live.
8: Furina de Fontaine Genshin Impact
Basically the little mermaid retelling. What can I say, I really REALLY like the woobie character trope done right.
9: Shadow the Hedgehog Sonic
Do I gotta explain this one... he's Shadow that's the only explanation we all need.
10: Tohru Honda
Her yearning for kindness and being kind is what makes her beautiful as a character.

I will cheat a little bit. Will name first 5 fave characters and then I will edit to add another 5.
1. Wei Ying from Mo Dao Zu Shi
I like this character so much that most of my OCs need to reflect some of his personality or principles. Like no one can do it like him. A true baddass bitch!!!
2. Coco from Witch Hat Atelier
Give me a hopeful and kind girl character who still found beauty in magic and insisted on using Magic to bring joys, despite witnessing tragedies and horrors inflicted by Magic... Usually I'm very skeptical about optimistic characters because they can be outright obnoxious, but not this girl.
(I may list a couple of character from the same fandom but not exactly, if you treat each continuity as their own things)
3. Elita-1 from War on Cybertron trilogy on Netflix
Look, I have beef with this show and there were times I want to rage quit this show so bad just 1 or 2 episodes in, but Elita-1 was the reason I still kept going (until she got killed off) because she's probably the smartest one of her faction, compassionate, determined, and brave and I wished Optimus was the one who kicked the bucket so that she got the spotlight that she deserved.
4. Bronwyn from Rings of Power
Hopefully the anti-ROP not going to jump me (Lol, like leave me the hell alone). But Bronwyn is BAMF, but in more gentle way. Also, she's both a leader and a healer, which I found her quite similar to Aragon (You know how Tolkien liked the idea of being a good ruler should strive to be a good healer too) (This is hard to pick my favorite characters from ROP because I like most of them).
5. Mao Mao from Apothecary Diaries
Mao Mao is what I called the fakest IDGAF ever. Also my favorite types of genius who is logically and rational most of the time, but still have enough empathy to understand other people's predicaments, even if she didn't understand why people feel certain things about certain situations.
6. Ae-Sun from When life gives you Tangerines
Look, I know her husband Gwan-sik is the most perfect husband ever and people have praised him enough, but Ae-Sun though, is the perfect woman from Gwan-sik. Also, she just had this grit in her to keep going despite tragedies and hardships and she never gave up on her dream and found different ways achieve her dreams to be the president of her village and later got her poems published while still devoting to her husband and family. The best thing is even when she losed the love of her life, she still kept living and enjoying her life with her children and grandchildren.
7. Xiao-Ying from TGCF (I still at chapter 33)
I knew she's a minor character but this girl still haunted me. Kind, brave and caring, what not to love about her???
8. Orion Pax from IDW2 comic.
Look, I know I'm kinda cheating on this but again, when it comes to Transformers franchises, they have so many different continuities that they kinda became their own sub-fandoms within Transformers fandom, so yeah, I can just include him. Why do I like him? Because he kinda caters to me in term of his personality being a mundane average person that had difficulty to process what he actually wanted in his life and tended to let circumstances guide his own journey (Literally me when I have to decide what I want to do in life). He can be awkward when dealing with others but he's perspective and smart enough to know his "friend" is a lying bastard and his boss is a dumbass.
9. Frodo from Lord of the Ring (Book version only. I don't vibe with Movie!Frodo, sorry).
The true BAMF character who happened to be a middle age man. Wise, strong will, caring and merciful. He's a fighter but not like the one who held weapon. His battle lies in his strong will to resist the Ring as long as he could to reach to the Mount Doom to destroy the ring (He failed still but to last that long while trying to die on that hell-lish journey, he had to be very strong).
10. Raymond from Everything, Everywhere All At Once.
This movie literally saved me from going too deep into depression back in 2020, and Raymond validated me about being kind is not being naive or stupid, and being kind is still very important.

"Badass mf" and it's the arguably most pathetic character in the entire novel that wouldn't know a spine if he started growing thorns. Words just don't mean things like they used to smh

So, I recently read this Chinese Megop fanfics on AO3 and yeah, Chinese writers really knew how to write these two both still very toxic but with so much chemistry between these two. Like they nailed the aspect of two arch enemies hating each other to the point they shaped themselves to match the freak of the others. Like we knew these two still hate each other but they also understood each way better than anyone else that they almost became soul mates (Well, more like dark soul mates).
Also for that fic to explain why Optimus (from IDW) decided to save Megatron's ass from getting executed by Starscream that didn't make it about "love and romance" or "I'm better than you for letting you live" type of shit was just golden for me. Why Optimus wanted to save Megatron from death sentence? Because he wanted to enact revenge on Megatron knowing Megatron actually would prefer taking the death sentence before getting rubbed to his face that all of the atrocities and evil deeds he committed against billions after billions of people in the universe was all for nothing and he was still wrong in the end. Such an interesting fic that showcased how egomaniac and narcissistic IDW!Megatron was, and still, he was still genuine about wanting to build a better society for the Transformers... He's still an outright bastard in that fic but I still sympathize for him.
And also, kudos that fics for making both IDW Optimus and the AU!Orion being perspective smart-asses. Most of the fics and even the canon materials reduced Optimus's intelligence below freezing points because apparently being an idealistic all-good guy makes him an absolute dumbass that you wonder how the fuck this motherfucker led the army without getting screwed in much earlier, thanks to the power of plot armor. Most of the time dealing with Optimus that wasn't on the same level of intellectual as Megatron, or always let him get rage-baited or dunked by Megatron without biting back does infuriate me so much. So to see a fic where Optimus "kindly" put Megatron in his place with facts and shit tons of sacarsms makes me very happy.
Please make him that gentle punk ass bitch that would fuck someone up with words please. G1 Optimus also rage-baited Megatron all the time in the cartoon.

It feels like dealing with JC stans throwing a tantrum when we call Jiang Cheng a fucking antagonist.

While I felt bad for Sarah and Ian (just a little for him though), Nikki got the worst deal out of this fuck-up shit show caused by the motherfucker Bear. She got trapped and forced to love this pathetic cunt to the point it seemed like she got split into two different persons.
And the fact she still survived after all the hell and sufferings, only to be subjected to the fucking mess and carnage that was left by that useless bitch (I knew Nikki brutally murdered Sarah and shot Ian but none of this would be happening if someone wasn't a such pussy ass bitch throughout the movie), which would like result in her end up in the prison and mental constitution that death almost seems like a kinder fate for her.
Nikki is the biggest victim in this movie and she had to stay alive to deal with the fuck-up shit from that useless piece of shit... Her fate is so sad and cruel.
Also, fuck Bear again. Never hate anyone this much like that bitch before....

Especially the ones that framed the service customer call scene where this motherfucker wanted to "alter" the wish as him being naive..... Naive????? Wanting that poor girl to continue falling in love with regardless of her autonomy is just him being naive??????? That's being cruel and selfish.

I actually ADORE the relationship between Qifrey and Tartah because Qifrey always looks like he's barely holding back the urge to sweep Tartah up like he does with the girls and poor Tartah looks like he'd legitimately rather be ANYWHERE else.

So hard to question to the writing choices of Skybound Elita-1 when I got surrounding by "Elita Prime is a false Prime" ass take (or the more "benevolent" ass take: "She will redeem herself by liking Earth just like Optimus did...")
Hasbro is so bizarre for pushing stuff like Oplita and KOBD and acting like they have wicked chemistry yet these are honestly the most bland relationships of all time (the fandoms do not help either).
