Hi! Happy Saturday! I’ve got another weird question this week: if your WIP(s) get mainstream popular in the future, what relationship(s) do you think will get misinterpreted the most by readers? It can be any type of relationship - romantic pairing, platonic friends, parent-child, etc.
Happy Storyteller Saturday! Thank you for the ask!
There is no doubt in my mind that Cal and Finder would be considered romantic instead of platonic and that introducing Finder's actual soulmate would just be seen as adding a love triangle conflict. For the record, Cal and Finder are platonic best friends forever. Finder has a romantic soulmate named Daphne he has yet to meet in #PA, but he is well aware that she is still out there when he meets Cal.
I could see people getting Cal and Jack or Cal and Ryan the telekinetic-Cal-knows confused for romance (especially because--as far as I know--Cameron is out of town for all of book 1 and I don't think I bother to make it clear he's a man.).
#Plot Armadillo is not the stereotypical urban fantasy that has the spunky female MC getting hot and heavy with every mildly attractive guy who is nice to her. Cal gets hot and heavy with no one. Cal's chemistry is strictly scientific!
