people: see, i don't know any of those weird obscure indie bands you listen to...
me, confused as heck: WHAT THE FUCK my taste in music is so basic
#it is in terms of like bands/singers lol#most of the people i listen to are relatively well-known#except for dave moisan and plake i guess#and mansionair#like i guess the combination of artists isn't basic? but the fact that they're all somewhat like...well-known#but also not like POPULAR popular#that's really basic#like i listen to radiohead and muse and the strokes and bon iver a lot#that's pretty damn basic#and uhhh amy winehouse fiona apple and norah jones#they're all kinda like known for something#same with nina simone except she's been around for longer and is very 'iconic'#what else#red hot chili peppers and beck and sublime and led zeppelin and pink floyd#and nirvana#and blur i guess?#that's VERY basic as they're all over people's shirts#but i actually love all of them#not saying that makes me cool or anything it just makes my taste in music really boring#like to me it isn't but how the heck do people think it's weird and indie#because i know people whose taste in music leans more towards that and they even say it is#i don't like actively seek out that kind of music#so idk lol i'm confusing myself
