Dad!Tenna is on the back burned for now because I'm having a horrible day, I will be back with more angst soon though.

You said something about Tenna Hypnosis? Oh do I have the thought for you. Tenna's partner who overworks themselves to the point of exhaustion.

Like, they are a bread WINNER but they are also always tired and can't relax for anything. So, Tenna decides to offer a bit of help and asks if his partner trusts him. They say yes and quickly go over limits and such before Tenna turns on the hypnosis and watches as his partner just melts into his arms, asleep already and looking so so peaceful.

They have the best sleep ever and Tenna gets to cuddle with his partner all day.

You work extremely hard out of everyone in the studio, you take your job seriously to the point of accidental self neglect. You don’t sleep, take little time to relax and just work 24/7. While Tenna likes how you’re dedicated to your job, in fact he uses you as an example of what he’d like to see. But he absolutely can’t stand seeing partner work themselves to the bone like this!

Everyone deserves a break once in a while and you’re certainly no exception. So Tenna decides to give you a few days off, causing you to initially panic bc did you do something wrong? Are you gonna get fired?! Tenna has to do a lil damage control before you can freak yourself out.

He explains that as your loving, devoted partner he simply can’t bear to see you like this! All stressed out, tired and glooby. You’ll work yourself into an early grave! You appreciate the sentiment but you’re like “nah it’s fine” despite running off of nothing but hopes, dreams and caffeine. Yeah, you can convince others with your “I’m fine” act but you can’t fool him!

You then bring up how you can’t really relax. It’s hard after being surrounded with things that need to be done or fixed. You feel useless or lazy when you aren’t doing anything. You’ve tried everything! Tenna listens to your plight before getting a bright idea. At first you’re initially hesitant, if not opposed. It sounds frankly intimidating to you.

Sure Tenna wouldn’t do anything to hurt you, of course not! But being in such a vulnerable position is scary. Tenna understands and assures you that you’ll be safe & well cared for. It’s just you and him, everyone was given strict orders to leave you alone and to not bother you. You willingly go along with him, sure it’s still nerve wracking but you feel slightly better.

I imagine Tenna has you straddle him so you’re close to him, comfortable. He gives you some back rubs for some muscle relief. Goodness gracious you’re tense! It’s like you’re a ticking time bomb waiting to go off.

Maybe Tenna should add some more vacation days to your schedule.

You feel better already, despite Tenna’s large size he’s gentle and caring. He treats you with delicacy. Then comes the actual hypnosis. At first you don’t feel much of anything, thinking that Tenna was trying to placebo you. Then it hit and by god did it hit good!

Thoughts about work or whatever just turned into straight mush, your muscles relaxed. You couldn’t help but let out a few happy moans and sighs when you felt your lover caress your back. Tenna’s warm body and words of pure unadulterated love had you melting into his touch.

Yeah.. maybe you will take more vacation days

So, I've been reading your Dad Tenna series, and not to be a Debbie Downer, but it reminds me of the relationship my father and I used to have.

We didn't get along for a long time, and he usually focused on things that would benefit him rather than what would benefit the whole family. I moved out at 16 and didn't talk to him for 2 years. So in a way, I see some comfort in your imagines.

However, my father is a completely changed man now. He's in my life now, and it took him a while to get to that point. He has proven time and time again that he is a much better person now than what he used to be.

Which brings me to this ask; Do you think if Tenna worked hard enough, do you think he and his child could have a better relationship?

Oh no, you’re completely fine! I work through my own daddy issues with fanfics like this so I understand where you’re coming from. I’m glad you and your dad have a much better relationship now.

Yes I whole heartedly believe that Tenna and his Tennaling can have a better relationship! In fact that’s the end result of these bc Tenna is not the type who enjoys hurting ppl or being content with his toxicity. We get numerous examples of Tenna hating to be mean or having to fight, he just really wants attention and doesn’t wanna be abandoned again.

Obviously the way he goes about it with his child is extremely unhealthy and toxic but he gets a wake up call. Tenna isn’t pure evil, he has mental problems and trauma that he hasn’t dealt with in healthy ways.

He feels horrible, disgusting for how he treated you.

The fact that you’re scared of him and you felt the need to bottle everything up until it exploded kills him. He’d rather be slashed and diced back to hunks of plastic & wire than repeat what he did. Obviously he has a long road ahead of him and other relationships he needs closure on. But he’s gonna try, he can’t force you to stay with him.

Nor does he blame you for wanting to leave. At least give him one more chance to make it right or at least ease your fears on feeling like you don’t matter.

Hiiii! I hope im not blowing up your inbox, ToT, but how do you think Spamton would feel about having to watch Tenna raise their kid in Castletown without him? Since he was so happy that Tenna kept the pipis, he probably did want to have a kid with Tenna. I really like the idea of Spamton being the one to bring up the idea of having a kid. Maybe Tenna didn't want one at first a sort of thing where he was like, "we don't need a kid, I already have Kris," then he slowly gets attached to the Pipis (especially after Spamton leaves and I assume Kris had at some point stopped watching TV as much as they used to.) I like to imagine him dressing up the Pipis and pretending its a baby when he gets especially lonely and is incredibly surprised when it hatches. Low and behold, he is now a single father.

In all seriousness, Spamton feels a mixture of grief, anger and yearning towards watching Tenna raise you. You being Spamton’s idea would hit so hard too. Tbh you would serve as a reminder to both of them of their relationship that they wanted to work & last yet it didn’t. Spamton feels awful that he abandoned you, denying you another father, teacher.

And how you look happy without him or worse, that you aren’t doing so hot. Spamton can’t go to you or anything since not only would that require him facing Tenna & swallowing his pride but potentially sending his lil friend after you and turning you into just like Spamton if not worse. So he watches from afar, he’ll show up sometimes but he always has to leave.

Doesn’t stop him from sending “free samples” of birthday cards or something to your door. Or even toy cars, it’s nothing like actually gifting you an actual car but oh well.

Tenna definitely warmed up to the idea of actually having a lil baby of his own after Kris outgrew him. Tenna definitely gets crazy empty nest syndrome. Ohh since the pipis is commonly depicted with a bow, imagine it was a gift from Tenna or Spamton and you incorporate it into your fashion like a bow tie or headband

He hears their little voice talking to someone from the other room. That snaps him out of his drunken sleep QUICK

In all seriousness though, Tenna immediately freaks all the way out and doesn’t even listen to the actual conversation but just slams the phone down so harshly it almost breaks. He interrogates you harshly about who was on the other end, what did they say to you and what did they want?

If it was just a wrong number call, Tenna is relieved and doesn’t feel sorry for freaking out. But if it was something more nefarious then he’s keeping you on a tighter leash. Actually scratch that, he’s caging your ass

How do you think Tenna would be with someone who is a single parent? Like both pre - and post relationship? I've been thinking about this because I've been reviving my old Deltarune OCs, and I've got one who is a single mother. I shipped her with Queen, and I was thinking of making it a poly love triangle situation, including Tenna in castletown. (This is partially because I really like the Tenna and Queen as a pairing)

I feel like Tenna wouldn’t mind at all if he were to date a single parent. (If that’s what you’re asking for here-) I mean he is owned by Toriel who is a single mom after the divorce and assuming he is one himself if the pipis is fertilized.

He’s one of those mother’s boyfriends who are good and loving with his s/o’s kids! Tenna likes kids, he would die for Kris and Asriel & your kid wouldn’t be an exception. Definitely gives them special privileges and other things. He gives them cute nicknames like Kiddo or Starlet, will be physically affectionate if the child wants it.

Tenna would be potentially worried about your kid not potentially liking him considering how Tenna is outdated compared to kid’s entertainment today. Yk he’s beaming when the kid does end up liking him.

Once you get married, Tenna is semi worried if your kid doesn’t like him afterwards. Seeing him as an intruder or a replacement. Which gets him to overcompensate in both his relationship with you and your child. Trying to say “hey I’m doing my best, please don’t leave me.” But obviously turns out okay. Oh Tenna is short circuiting and engulfing the kid in a hug & kisses if they called him dad

The concept of Rouxls giving relationship advice while flirting with the both of them. Meanwhile Spamton and Tenna are close to strangling each other. You end up paying Rouxls a lot to make up for the lack of not only their services not working but also no new polycule.

I think what truly scares Tenna's kid away from phones is his reaction when they truly see how afraid Tenna is.

I can see them being around 8 or 9 years old when they actually answer the phone. Tenna was passed out on the couch, maybe a wild after party or something, and hadn't put Reader to bed.

Reader is probably watching T.V. when they hear the phone ring. They wanted to let their dad sleep so they go to answer to themselves. They have to stand on their toes to be able to grab the receiver.

They're about to put it up to their ear when Tenna come running in, looking absolutely petrified

It’s for the sheer desperation and how fast Tenna was. You were often used to Tenna having a cool, rational attitude towards you and you. And you never saw the issue with the phone, it was just a silly object! Tenna was making it out to be some horrible monster you would see on the horror channel.

It was after a glorious party and everyone had gone home/sleeping off the booze. You were contentedly sleeping in Tenna’s lap when you heard the phone. Nobody else stirred as if it was calling out to you specifically. You looked up at your dad who was deeply asleep then at the direction of the noise. It wouldn’t hurt, after all it was just a silly telephone to you.

Nothing scary. Carefully you lifted up your dad’s arm, slipped off his stomach and you wandered bravely to the phone. It felt exciting, like you were in a spy film.

Tenna noticed the lack of weight on his chest, about to justify it with the assumption you went to sleep in your own bed. It stung a lil since you always liked cuddling with your dad but oh well. Kids grow up eventually and-! Then he heard the ringing.

Didn’t take Tenna long to connect the dots.

“What on EARTH are you doing?!”

You were practically shoved outta the way as Tenna made sure that you didn’t actually pick it up. He didn’t look angry just… deathly afraid. Cue long lecture about why you should take Tenna seriously. You then ask him the heavy hitting question.

“Did it… make papa go away?”

“… And I’m afraid you’ll join him.”
