Ryan, @thatsminethankyou, tagged me in this, apparently that means there’s some kind of obligation for me to complete it. I’ll get my own back at some point Ryan...

Be kind.
Be courteous.
Make less fuck ups.
So. Here’s a story.
Growing up, my family didn’t order pizza to be delivered. We lived close enough to town to where my parents didn’t see the point in paying extra for delivery when one of them could go get it.
Lanny’s family ALWAYS had pizza delivered. They rarely drove to town to get it.
Some weird part of me was always jealous of that. Maybe not JEALOUS. But what kid didn’t like having pizza delivered to their house, huh?! Right? Right.
Fast forward some years. Lanny and I have a house.
We don’t order pizza often. But when we do… What does he do? He picks it up. Why? Because “we live close enough to town.”
“But… but I’m an adult. This is what we work hard for so we can enjoy these luxuries of having pizza delivered! Don’t take this JOY from me!”
This story came up Saturday night at my birthday outing between @thatsminethankyou and Lanny.
Fast forward to tonight.
I’m caught at work late. I’m hungry. A little stressed. I know Lanny’s hungry, too. I’m trying to get home to help with dinner. Errands take longer than I expected. I come home… nothing is ready for dinner. I ask Lanny what he wants. He fumbles over words and doesn’t really give any input as to what he wants to eat.
Then. The doorbell rings. Lanny smiles, hands me cash and says, “give this to them.”
“…what the hell is going on…?”
I open the door. And there he is… A pizza delivery man. Holding MY delivered pizza. Lanny snaps this picture as I close the door.
He asked if I looked at the receipt…
Ryan bought me birthday pizza.
You guys. My heart. My heart exploded.
I’m full of so much love for that girl.
So here I am, eating like a jerk on a Tuesday night and I am certain I am the happiest person in the world at this exact moment.
Thanks, friend.
Two weeks until the BFF & I go to Austin for SxSw!
We (mostly me) have been planning our outfits for months. Can't wait to show them off to each other. I am really fighting myself to limit my exclamation points on this post. (!!!!!!!!!) Phew, I feel much better.
