for someone so young, newt certainly has a perceptive mind. perhaps it’s a trait that comes from isolation, from learning to read any and all signs of life, out of some unmitigated sense of self preservation. it’s enough to admittedly stun sabé into silence, eyes blinking, once, twice - before finally formulating the necessary words. she wants to deny it. to say that in the company of such good friends it is IMPOSSIBLE to be lonely; but there is more to loneliness than the absence of company. there is a kind of missing kinship, a loss of self perhaps, when left with only your own thoughts to guide you. she deserves better than a false dismissal though, she is neither enemy nor threat and for that she deserves an honesty granted to a select few.

( are these her friends? or those of the queen? is there really much of a difference either way? ) it’s a strange sensation, one that she isn’t sure she herself understands enough to explain fully to a child - but that draws her back to the word newt had used. ‘too.’ did she still feel that way? even here when surrounded by the people of naboo? or had the damage been done aboard that derelict colony, when the only thing left for company had been a creature more akin to the stuff of nightmares.
