I want to be able to write about you but poetry often romanticizes things that weren't able to become fully realized

and our connection is as complex and realized as they come

Everything we did was poetry

I miss your family

I miss our adventures

I miss midnight laughter and cold feet under blankets

I miss being able to share energy in a space together

Now I sit alone

Wanting more than anything to reach out to you but if I'm going to be met with a cement wall

I will bruise

And I'm running out of skin

If this is what it feels like to be in your proximity I am terrified to see what it will be like when there are thousands of miles between us
