The Devoured Blade-1 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: All that's left is the final level of the Tower of Dreams. And here we find Lady Tara waiting for us. "Finally the heroes have arrived." Apparently she is not as much in need of rescuing, as Kerrick was told.

Seeing the number of kenku-pirates and Lady Tara herself we have to think fast. But she doesn't quite know what that blade is, that she is after.
"Why do you want it?"
"Why? To free Gothyl of course, and thus free the Dalelands."
We seem to have a different understanding of what "freeing the Dalelands" means, but we have to do something: The Zentharim have also invaded the tower, and are trying to push through to us from below. Being caught in the middle of such a huge battle doesn't sound like a great idea.
Nimue tries her luck with a trick: "You shall have the blade." But instead of handing over the Blade of the Dalelands, she gives Blooddrinker, Murim's cursed blade to lady Tara. She fails to recognize the danger. The ritual takes its course ...
The Devoured Blade-3 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: And of course things go haywire. The plan so far is good: The blade sets the power of The Devourer free instead of opening a portal to the Abyss and feeding Gothyl with energy. Kenku get devoured.
The Devoured Blade-4 by Nthmetal Justice Via Flickr: "We need to get Lady Tara's book!" Nimue and Kerrick work on a risky plan to get that Black Tome, from which Tara has been reading and executing the ritual.
