I watched the full episode and WHY is it so good??? 😭

Nicola (aka the Queen of pickles) is just out here chatting about food, her cooking habits, random kitchen appliances, telling chaotic childhood stories (immortal nuns?😭), and just being her lovely, funny self.

I LOVE this format - she’s actually so good at podcasts!

She also talks a bit about fame and how it’s been for her and how it’s different for women, which I feel was really important for her to say.

Also Wiradjuri land is fuckin HUGE, we passed so many signs saying “now entering Wiradjuri land” after passing signs for other Countries.

This is now my second favourite science place (first place goes to Questicon, because it rules!!!)

They have a mini version of the disk where you can click a button and it rotates and then plays the sound of a different pulsar!! (Also they misnamed the Vela Pulsar, it should be the one with the name “crab pulsar” cuz it sounds more like claws snapping!)

Also they sold dvd copies of the movie about the place.

And somehow my mum knew someone descended from the guy who founded Parkes, more evidence for the “Australia is just one big small town vibe”

And now some info from right now! I just recounted the story of teaching my mother how dolphins are whales and how orcas are also dolphins to my grandma, and then she starts talking about how lovely and fun dolphins are, so I tell her they gang rape for fun, and THEN I tell her how they play catch with pufferfish while getting high off of said pufferfish!!
