Introducing The Framecell: that great local band you're going to wish was local to YOUR town. The Framecell hails from New Britain, CT, has been together since 2008, plays some sort of post-pop indie rock shoegaze soup. Any other salient details can be found on their last.fm profile or your band stalky site of choice.
The first thing you need to know about this band is they have this fantastic energy on stage. This video doesn't even do that justice, go see them at The Space or some club-y-er venue if possible. MINDBLOWING. They conquer through swirling layers of reverb and pedals, creating a sound that carries you away without ever feeling overcrowded. It took me two or three times to even realize they have three guitars, but that might just be me. Based on live presence alone I always feel compelled to draw comparisons with certain more seasoned bands playing the same bass-and-reverb-laden flavor of rock-ish music, but will refrain from naming names for fear of getting yelled at ><; (No band sounds like any other band, okay? They all sound like themselves.)
I'm not going to gloss over their rough edges - sometimes all the lyrics don't seem to fit into the space they've been given, and it's basically impossible to ever hear what Mike is singing no matter where you stand. If every band was perfect right from the very beginning though, I would start to get nervous. These guys have seriously got something awesome going on.
The Framecell is currently recording their first full-length, which I am super excited for. It's just an educated guess, but I feel like they're moving toward a heavier sound and I hope it shows up on this. No release date yet, but a reputable source has said that once they finish up recording there will definitely be touring. Get excited. :D :D :D
