You know, reading the Baskerville translation page, I can't help but wonder what would happen if a Glen decided they didn't WANT to kill the child of misfortune? Like, they just DEFIED everything to do with this whole process. Oswald obviously LOVED his sister and felt tremendous guilt over having to kill her so much that he wished for punishment and atonement. And Gil... Gil and Vincent... I just can't.

And Revis! I keep wondering who was the child of misfortune for him. And all the Glen's prior, actually.

But I'm having Oswald feels so let me go into that for a moment and a comparison I've had for a long while now:

The thing with raising Alice...

Yeah, he was doing it for some sort of redemption, but it's occurring to me now how much Oswald Baskerville is like someone else I love dearly -- Severus Snape. Or else Aunt Petunia. D: Except he didn't hate/dislike Alice and Alyss. I think he really cared about them, but it hurt to look at Alice -- like Snape towards Harry -- without seeing Lacie. Of course Jack fills the role of the unrequited love deal between Snape/Lily, thus making Jack more like Snape in that aspect, but...

GAH.

I really love Oswald. He makes me feel so bad for him. The fact that he had to kill Lacie, to the fact that he then had to raise her daughter(s), and fight his best friend and kill a whole city of people to stop said best friend.. I would love to know more about him. Hear and see his thoughts.
