I'm trying to get into all the wonderful recs for the conversation hearts exchange (which I really am genuinely excited about), but all I can focus on is "The Long Surrender" and the line "it's the knowing everything rises from the hem of Your gown" like a poet in the 1900s might have said that but no, southern rock singer Bear Rinehart put it in a gospel song in 2026.

There is so much of Bear's low register on this album, I love it, except I can't sing that low, so I hop up the octave, and THEN he shifts up, right in the big moment, and I can't follow up the octave, and I die a little. And then I pitchily sing it in a different key on my own and all is right with the world.

Btw, "Strangeness of it All" and "Spread the Ashes" are twins to me. No, I cannot elaborate.
