Just remembered this idea that randomly popped into my head a little while ago: Maki, having basically ended up in the position as the unwilling babysitter of the Monokuma Cubs, occasionally reads stories to them to keep them entertained so they don’t go around causing trouble. Whenever Monokuma either needs to summon the students or the cubs for something while she’s in the middle of a story, he will sort of just interrupt and bring the story to an abrupt ending that usually involves the main characters being killed off (unless the characters happen to bears). Maki is not amused.
