My discussions on the smooth jazz have been relatively sedate as I haven’t really properly defined the idiom in the way I should have defined for everyone to understand and to see. Then again, smooth jazz also tends to get equated with something in the vein of, uh, I don’t know, nu jazz? Well, that might be just my thing, but I sincerely believe nu jazz can be seen as an evolution of smooth jazz. Look, Koop – you checked the link, admit that, and I did intentionally use the AI writing trick here – might not be seen as one of these great jazzists, yet they get their job done. Sadly, the group disbanded after they probably understood how to deploy their style in succint matter, because I think they still had more to say.
