The Axis Shifts

Sixteen hours, five minutes, forty-seven seconds.

She is fine with that.

Pain is something to which She is no stranger. It has become something that is merely to be endured and passed through, no longer all-encompassing. She has unnerved more than one nurse with Her silence in the face of sharp contractions, but how can She explain that the pain She is experiencing is merely a shadow of that which struck through Her entire being down to Her very core every time She piloted a giant biomechanical cyborg known as Evangelion Unit 00 as the raw parts of Her Soul rubbed up against the raw parts of the Soul fragment housed within the Evangelion's Core?

She knows She cannot explain, and so She endures in silence.

Contract... Wait... Contract... Wait... Dilated to ten centimeters... Contract and push.... push... PUSH!

Pressure, slide, sliding, an easing of tension and pressure...

A mewling cry of new Life...

She is so very tired, but not so tired that She cannot demand Her Child be brought to Her. Her Child, Her little miracle of circumstance... Her lips curve into a tired and weary smile as She guides His mouth to Her nipple, encouraging Him to take His first sustenance in the outside world from Her.

"Mamoru," She whispers softly. "You are Mamoru... the Protector... You shall watch over Them all... long after I cannot...."

She supposes that this is to be expected. Her condition has caused certain unforeseen side effects, most notably the odd "power surges" which cause random activation and deactivation of electrical devices.. The lift, while inherently mechanical, is still run by electricity, and is therefore subject to the whims of Her fluctuating biology.

"I am sorry for the inconvenience," She intones quietly, carefully shifting Her position to relieve some of the pressure that is being put on Her lower back. "Perhaps it would have been best for Me to have taken the stairs." It was only six flights, after all....

Tough call. I vote that you reset to before the pregnancy stuff happens.

That would put Lili's memory at about a week after New Year's, before Reshinji petitions her for another chance but after her body reset.
