I think one of the funniest aspects of Merlin in general is the fact that even if you are looking at fandom stuff before you actually watch it all, you dont know when most of the stuff happens. it catches you by surprise. 

why? because merlin always wears the same damn clothes, so you cant try to remember what clothes he's wearing and associate them with a certain moment because they're always the same
