Whenever Chicago weather takes a turn for the cold and blistery, you can always count on the Soupbox to warm you from the inside out.
I have never been much of a soup fan, since a lot are tomato based and I don't do tomatoes, but when my sister took me and my family here, I was converted. They make 12 soups fresh daily, and all are served in big black cauldrons. Each of the soups I've had are extremely creamy and delicious--and filling. Also for bonus yums, ordering or splitting a grilled cheese on the side never hurt anyone.
This place is a comfortable joint that works its magic and relieves everyone of the agony of wintery days--or any other day that just feels off.
Memorable moment: The staff is super friendly and helpful at both locations, and even gave my friend a new bowl of soup when our other friend accidentally flung the soup off the table and onto the ground. (oops).
