Those Eyes are the Stars, that all Light my Way

Those eyes are the stars, that all light my way, His voice: a river, that flows ‘neath my feet, Her smile marks the beginning of my day, Their hearts have the love to make me complete.
You see two souls joined in a partnership, The type of bond we all seek in this life. It won’t be long ‘till they start to trip, ‘Till they push me away with their tongue’s knife.
Like many before and many to come, They search for reasons to have me removed. Yet still the thought of them makes my heart thrum, A pain I know well, that cannot be soothed.
A brutal cycle of give and of take, Until I find love that can halt this ache.
