I guess for WIP Wednesday. I’ll share some Path of Pain/Manving lore realised from the new draft (been working diligently on this)
Magnus’ mum was called Barbara
The Irving family had a Bulldog
John only does Path of Pain rituals on Friday nights (at least at the beginning)
Magnus briefly dated a girl before he was with John
Manving were childhood friends and used to play a game called “husband and wife” where John would play as a nagging wife. It was weird.
John was the first person to tell Magnus that he was not stupid which is why he likes him so much
They fell out for a long time when they were younger because of the Ghost beatdown which happened during Halloween shortly after John’s mum’s death.
Manving were in a relationship for SIX SHITTY YEARS. From 19 to 25.
When they were first together, John cuddled Magnus a lot “like a pet”
John think his mother died bc of his “degeneracy” which is why he geeks out so much
John dropped out of university (he went to Uni of Liverpool) bc it was full of sex-havers. He used to identify as asexual. After dropping out, he lived with his dad and lied about having a job when he didn’t. He has inexplicable money but uhh who knows where it’s coming from?
