It was true the University had a library with many scholarly books, but the public library had the newest science-fiction releases.

Gaster read a great deal; he had always enjoyed books, and although most of the time he spent was reading non-fiction and scholarly articles and his student’s essays on scientific theory, he prefered to spend his off-hours reading a good, nonsensical book about what the humans thought of as “magic” and “highly advanced technology” or a combination of the two.

The new release of his favorite series had just been released and he hoped the library would still have a copy.

He entered the library and moved briskly to the “New Releases” section where he hoped to find his prize.

Aria looked up to Ludwig and for some reason, her fur is actually lighter than it has been before.

“Hm? Aria? Is something the matter?”

He noticed the unusual coloring. Was his eyes playing tricks on him? Was it the lighting? Ludwig couldn’t pinpoint it.

Wait. Wait a second. This particular child seemed VERY familiar to him, and by that, I mean VERY. ( Familiar in a bad way, of course. ) Was this child, Wendy? One of Koopa’s “kids?” Yeah, with that look, she had to be. Mario didn’t want to pull any aggression on her, because if she really WAS Koopa’s kid, she could call for Lord Lizard-Lips. And he REALLY wasn’t in the mood to deal with Bowser now.

“...I’m-a sorry, but are you Wendy-a? You... uh... look-a exactly like her. I don’t wanna-a fight you.”

A small human girl I’ve encountered on some of my adventures. She dresses kinda weird. Seems nice enough. I’ve seen her hanging around the Koopalings, but they don’t seem to mind her... In fact, they seem friendly towards her. I don’t know what she is to them, or what they are to her, but if they’re in kahoots, maybe I should steer clear... Still, though, she doesn’t seem like a troublemaker. Perhaps she just fell in with the wrong crowd...?

im surprised someone thinks there’s anything about her that is salvageable, though XD

but hey! that does sound very interesting! o: also maybe give her a soul trait that isnt a negative emotion because when you think about it it’s just ridiculous. same with hate in this au

for one: hate and fear arent even traits (like determination, patience, etc) theyre emotions

for two: a soul is not supposed to have a negative trait (which isnt even a trait like i just said above.) if such occurrence was a thing its like babies can already *be born* evil because they were born with a negative soul trait

and for three: the colors do have meanings attributed to each. thats why i made pink stand for compassion in the first place. black can stand for independence. magenta for inspiration. periwinkle for curiosity. grey for stability. all these attributes are meanings linked to their respective colors. also, none of them are negative. you cant really just pick your favorite color just because and give it an attribute that alone makes no sense already, that has nothing to do with the color and expect it to really work

Universe hopping might just become a hobby of theirs. Dove didn’t mind the adventure, in fact they welcomed it with open arms like many things. Still, they couldn’t help the gnawing feeling inside of them every time they go somewhere new. 

They knew no one. Unfamiliarity hung over them like a heavy lead curtain as they found the nearest tree to huddle under. 

“Stay positive, stay positive, stay positive.” They chant under their breath so very low they were unsure if they even heard themselves. 

Okay so maybe they were in some land that wasn’t their surface, but at least it wasn’t the underground anymore! That’s some positive thinking. And they had their backpack still with some snacks! The thought brings a small smile to their face as they grab the backpack that laid beside them and opened up the zipper to snatch a bag full of homemade butterscotch cinnamon cookies made by their mom.

They’ll just sit here until someone comes along, or until they finally go back home. Hopefully in time for supper.
