A smile started to brighten up his features, the blush on his cheeks never fading. "D-Dating? If that's what you want then yes. I'd like that a lot."
My grin grew even wider. “Good,” I chirped, propping my elbows on the table and scooting as close as I could to the table. “Because now I can brag to my unnies that I’m dating the cutest boy in the entire world.” Your blush was so cute. “Yah, Jeonghannie? When is the bowling outting with the others again?”
"I've always liked you Amelia.." Jeonghan sighed, now frustrated with himself. He did like her for a long time, but why had it taken him so long to realise it? She had everything he was looking for, so he should've known earlier. "I just.. I just took to long to realise how much."
Happiness kept rising in my chest, brining a bright smile to my lips. I could hardly believe this. Oh my gosh oh my gosh, you liked me back! “Jeonghannie,” I whispered, leaning close to the table, the joy I felt obvious in my eyes. “Does this mean we’re dating now?”
Jeonghan sat back in his seat, a faint blush dusting his cheeks. He'd been caught. He quickly brought his tea cup to his face in attempts of hiding his blush, but you'd likely seen it by now. "I'm trying to say a lot of things that could ruin what we have."
Wait, why were you blushing? Did I do something wrong? Did I embarrass you somehow? Oh gosh, what if- I quickly calmed my thoughts. As you leaned back, the blush slowly began to fade and I couldn’t help but feel disappointed that you drew your hand away. “What do you mean, ruin what we have?” I leaned forward in worry. “Oppa, whatever you have to say won’t make me think less of you, I promise.”
"What makes you think that?" His fingers gently traced the line of your jaw before ever so delicately tucking a lock of hair behind your ear. "I honestly have never found a quality of yours any less than lovely."
“Because, um… I don’t know…” I swallowed nervously, your gentle touch up my jaw doing nothing to calm the butterflies in my chest. Your words made them flutter even faster. What you said was pretty straightforward, but did it actually mean you… Liked me? The wary but excited anticipation of what those words really meant nearly made my heart beat out of my chest. “Jeonghan,” I breathed, still searching your eyes for any sort of explanation. “What are you trying to say?”
"You're right, you aren't anything like this cafe." He finished his tart and wiped his mouth. He reached over the table, gently lifting your chin so you looked at him. His gaze was as soft as his voice, watching you with admiration. "You're far prettier."
My breath caught in my throat as you lifted my head to meet your gaze. FRIENDS! Part of my mind screamed at me. MORE THAN FRIENDS, the other part said. Your touch, however simple, sent shivers down my spine. Did you really actually like me? Like, more than friends? Or was my mind playing tricks on me? “O-oppa, surely you don’t mean that…” I could feel my cheeks getting warmer as I searched your eyes for some sort of sign that you were joking.
"Mhm. When I found it all I could do was think of you." What was he saying? She was going to find out! He quickly put food in his mouth in attempts of distracting himself from his slight embarrassment. He swallowed, taking a sip of his tea. "It's got a lot of similar qualities with you."
Similar qualities? All he could think about was me?! My heart rate didn’t seem to want to return to its normal pace. I trained my gaze on the food in front of me. “Y-yah, I’m nothing like this pretty little cafe.” Ah shit, there was the stutter again. “If… If it resembled anyone, it would be you.” As soon as I had said it, my cheeks heated up. I hadn’t meant to say that out loud! I shyly drew circles on the table with my finger, looking anywhere but your face.
"I am too." The food came shortly after, and Jeonghan thanked the waitress. He sipped his tea quietly, eyes admiring the way you looked in the light of the cafe. You were beautiful, and he couldn't deny it, nor could he deny his newfound feelings for you. "Why don't we make this our little secret? That way we can always have somewhere to go to when we want to spend time alone together."
I tore my gaze away from the window, although I liked the view in front of me even better, I realized. “I won’t tell anyone then,” I said quietly with a little smile. I had a feeling we’d be coming here often. Oh gosh… Your gaze was so distracting I found it a struggle to glance away and pick up one of my cookies. “Did you really notice this adorable cafe and instantly think of me?” I asked between bites.
"Of course you are. A girl as lovely as you should be treated as one too." The nickname brought a little smile to his face, his heart fluttering a bit. He looked up that all the choices, deciding on a mint tea and a small tart. He placed the orders and payed, leading you to a table near a window. "I'm really glad you agreed to come with me."
Me? A princess? Had you not had your morning coffee? As I sat, I took in every tiny detail of the cozy cafe, all its tiny potted flowers and few happily nibbling customers sitting at their own tables. “I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity like this.” What I implied was an opportunity for coming to this cafe. What I really meant was an opportunity to spend time with you, whatever it was we were doing. “I’m glad you invited me.”
