\\ The Alembic Still . During the clear, but cold, weather we've had of late, it was time to pull out our new still and cleanse her. . Copper is an amazing material, not only for the color, and beautiful patina that develops overtime, but also because of its hyper conductivity and unique catalytic properties. Have you ever whisked eggs in a copper bowl? Talk about fluffff . Working with the still I'm reminded that its alive. As the copper reacts to streaks of water by turning purple and blue, and even to my little human finger prints. . I'm enthralled about this budding relationship. And about working with my favorite plant allies through distillation in such an ancient design (circa 700s Islamic Golden Era). .
