I personally think those anti-homeless spikes are a great idea. It stops them from sleeping in front of someone's home and maybe it'll encourage them to go to a shelter because they they're not welcome to just sleep anywhere.

I guess so but it sure says a lot about this country's toxic views on people in economic hardship. It's cold and nasty and dehumanising. 

Instead of putting spikes in the ground and treating people like vermin, I'd rather see the government allocate a portion of defence spending toward tackling homelessness instead. We already have the 4th highest defence spending on the planet so I think they can afford to use a little of that to help human beings instead of killing them.
