it had felt like he had lost his left arm for the last few days without betty by his side. he would have reached out sooner to her, but he didn’t want to be overly annoying. she had been hurt by his stupid actions and he knew after their little time apart, that she would surely be alright now. maybe the feelings wouldn’t go away, but he just wanted to be forgiven. he just wanted to be next to his best friend again. he had been lonely as of late after all. he knew knocking on the front door wasn’t any good, alice cooper turned into a guard dog when archie andrews was concerned. she was stern and beyond protective which he of course, didn’t mind. but archie was harmless. he wasn’t going to do anything. except beg for forgiveness from betty. archie also knew that texting her wasn’t good enough. they were close enough where that seemed stupid. it didn’t seem like it was enough.
grabbing his huge notebook, he quickly climbed onto his bed and grabbed a marker. thank god he had something this big, otherwise he knew this wouldn’t work. he saw this in some music video, surely it was charming enough for archie to pull off. swallowing as he held the marker in his left hand, he let his eyes scan across the paper before beginning to write ‘i miss you’ on the page, ensuring to take his time with it considering it was his less-dominant hand and he hadn’t really trained it like he probably should have been doing. it must have took him about five minutes to write those eight letters, making them big and bold. and to top it off, he drew a heart next to it all, adding a smiley face. thankfully though, he spotted betty’s light turn on from the corner of his eye and immediately hopped up from his bed, moving to grab his torch from the corner of his room that he had from planning his camping trip with jughead from last summer.
he was practically begging that this would work, hoping that it would win over betty’s heart like he thought it would. he could have sworn he knew the girl like the back of his hand, but he also knew this would surely test if he knew betty cooper like he thought he did. he pointed the torch her way, signalling at her by flashing the light as quickly as he could. he didn’t even wait to see her face by the window before holding the sign underneath his face, hoping she’d see it so he didn’t have to shine the light at the cooper house again. “c’mon, betty.. look out the window.”
