Talion can feel the eyes on him. Is it just his paranoia? Was it years of training? He moves, slowly for the moment, and scans in front of him. Nothing. Strange. He whips around suddenly, looking behind him and drawing his knife. Old habits die hard. He sees the red hair first, and once he realizes who it is he stows his knife.
They had left each other on bad terms and he honestly felt bad. “Are you going to keep over there and not talk to me? I can’t fix whatever I fucked up if you don’t tell me what’s wrong.” He sits down on the ground and waits. No sense in running after her if she left. Would only cause more problems.
Her eyes went to the knife, and though she fought to hide it, he might be able to see the small flash of fear that echoed in them. She had never thought of him as a threat. Sure, she had known a bit about who he was, who he had been. She hadn’t known everything of course, but she had a couple spots of information. But their last interaction. She had been reminded how dangerous he could be. He was. And she was of his usual prey. It was a dangerous spot for her.
Fix what he didn’t know was wrong? How could he not know what was wrong? Did he not know her? Anything about her? How long had they known each other? Sure, she didn’t expect to be important to many, but maybe to a few. She crossed her arms and looked away before that gut fear hit her again and her eyes went back to him, to his hands. Now the thought of danger was in her mind. Her body responding to the information. Frozen. Eyes in anger. Body in fear.
