Day 11: Exploring Fish creek park

On our day in Calgary Jess drove us to Fish Creek Park which we then explored on foot for about 12km. It's a nice long, fairly wild provincial park on the outskirts of Calgary and at least Jeff sort of grew up in it. Jess went to work, as did Jeff, so we walked home and then took our car downtown for some urban odyssey. We wanted to check out Last Best brewery, the sister brewery to Banff Ave. Brewing, so we did and bought some growlers to take home. I also stopped at The Camera Store and shook hands with the guy who does the awesome gear reviews there. We then struggled a bit with our satnav and consequently explored half of Calgary downtown by car, before we made it to Prince's Island for a quick extra walk, some tourist shots and a coffee at the bakery place. We also saw a rabbit right on 1st Street. How weird. We went back for 7 pm and ordered some chinese and had a lovely meal with cupcake desserts from Crave and a bloody good chinwag with the stoys, all accompanied by appropriate amounts of really good beer. Good memories were shared and it was a truly fantastic visit to meet some dear friends I hadn't seen since 2012 when this blog originally started. Thank you so much Jess, Jeff and Jack for all the kindness and hospitality you offered us!
