"Look at that," Buddy says as a means of greeting after he spotted Celeste and made his way over to join her at the table she was at to sit with her at it, "We actually made it out of The Reef, props to us."

He knew he was as flakey as they got when it came to keeping up with plans -- even when he had made them -- so it felt like an accomplishment to actually see one through.

Location: The Beer Garden at the Summer Carnival

"Is it just me or are some people like too excited about this?" The event reminded her very much of the town festivals she went to back home in Boca Raton. It was really sweet to see the excitement in the kids eyes, a similar look she was sure she once wore. Over the years, she's attended many different town festivals around the region, but there was a different type of energy in the air here. Perhaps it was because everyone had been on so edge with the recent happenings in town that they were able to finally breathe for once. Not having much stake in town, she couldn't relate but surely could empathize. "Have you checked out anything?"

layla stands outside of the botanical gardens with a packet of antihistamines and a bottle of water. "someone up there truly has it out for me." she notes to the woman next to her, shaking her gently with a gentle chuckle. "i'm allergic to what i adore most." she motions out towards the plants within the garden gates. sometimes the universe was a cruel mistress... popping two pills, layla took a sip of water to chase it down.
