I really admire you for making the decision to leave the fandom! I'm having very similar feelings but I'm not strong enough to leave yet. I pretty much am only invested in Supernatural's fanfiction and not even remotely the canon. I'm also tired of being treated like shit & looked down upon by the writers. Ughhhhh. :( but you go girl.

I mean it kinda really sucks because there’s a lot of people in the fandom who I like and who I wanna be close with, but distancing myself from the show kinda means distancing myself from the fandom even if I don’t want to? (like. because without watching the show, I’m basically just falling behind everyone who is keeping up with it. they’re all gonna be on season 10 and I’m gonna be sitting here like “but do u guys remember how hardcore dean was pining in s8. wasn’t that so cool”

there aren’t even words for how mad the writers/showrunners make me when it comes to fan interactions tbh, so. it’s kinda nice not having to be worried about being mocked by the creators of things i like???

(tho like I get what you’re saying about like. not feeling ready to leave yet? idk it probably sounds weird to a lot of people, but like. I wasn’t satisfied with SPN for a loooooong time and I kept clinging to it because I wanted to hold on and wasn’t ready to let go either so like. yeah. =/ )

Also about the Willow's sexuality it's important to take note that a person's sexuality can change throughout their life. Just because a woman has sex with a man doesn't mean she can never identify as a lesbian. I wouldn't consider it bi-erasure. Also you're right about Orphan Black- Cosima is written as a lesbian (at least they've never said anything about her being interested in men) and Delphine is canonically bisexual. :)

yeah I also forgot to mention in that answer that i saw a discussion about it on here recently and the fact that, after Tara, Willow is only interested in dating women, is not erasing her relationships with men - it is saying that she did have meaningful relationships with men but after dating a women, she is happier and prefers dating women so could now identify as a lesbian
