This hat is supposed to have a crocheted ribbing, but crocheted ribbing has to be worked sideways and it created a weird patch of green. So I had the idea to modify it to have a knit ribbing and now I’m really liking the way the colors are striping (with this jog being in the back so it will be less noticeable). My first finished commission of 2022, and it’s slightly different but still adorable companion. The yarn I ended up buying in the correct colors (Big Twist) is going to be way warmer anyway, which will be better for the wearer who lives up a mountain in the snow. What was going to be a finished object post has instead become a PSA to all my yarny friends out there. Check the color name before you start your project so you will be able to tell that the yarn you have is in fact cream and not the white you thought it was. This will prevent you from working on the project in all kinds of light all day only to notice what color it actually is when you go to pick it up to finish the final row. Don’t worry. I’m still finishing it. It was 99% done before I realized it was wrong. It’s just getting set aside for a while while I make the hat again with the correct yarn.
