“ Try me. ” The woman was aware that the words she uttered would bring to mind an image of her estranged daughter and served as a lingering thread of their relation to each other. She paid it no further mind as she assessed the deep gouge in the half-devil’s side from a particularly nasty infernal demon. 

“ Other than that, please tell me you can still heal. I’d rather not exhaust my stock of poultices if I don’t have to. ”

“But I don’t wanna.” Why yes Vergil, Dante is going to act like an overgrown child and whine, “Besides, you’re not my mom. I can stay up if I want.”

“Leanin’” The cambion groaned, trying to keep on his feet so Vergil wouldn’t have to worry much about dragging him listlessly through the mud. “God that hurt. What hit me, an angel statue? Or was it a ton of bricks?”
