New Yorker by birth & Dominican by bloodline, Suhaly Bautista, otherwise known as, “The Earth Warrior,” is a photographer, world traveler and arts educator. In 2008, she graduated from NYU with a B.A. in English and American Literature and received her MPA from the Wagner School of Public Service at NYU in 2011, where she specialized in sustainable international development. Suhaly began her global escapades while living and working in Italy and Ghana and has served as an educator, activist and artist throughout Latin America. As a Graduate Resident Advisor and Global Ambassador at NYU, Suhaly coordinated service learning trips to New Orleans focused on sustainably rebuilding Katrina-devastated neighborhoods and was named one of “NYU’s 15 Most Influential Students,” for promoting art, diversity and social justice in her work. In 2011, Suhaly moved to Paraguay and started a 35mm film photography arts education project for youth called, Somos el Presente.

Suhaly is the Project Coordinator for the “Culture of Creativity,” a visual art movement promoting and documenting unique, creative and revolutionary lifestyles. She is also a Cru member of FOKUS (Fighting Obstacles Knowing Ultimate Success), an arts advocacy organization designed to educate, empower and unite communities through the arts. Her photographic documents have been featured in FOKUS’ Insight Magazine.
Suhaly is currently the Social Justice Coordinator at the YWCA and is living, loving and working in New York City.
