Spread His Wings
Cocoa Nutter, known for its delicious treats and amazing sweets. Quill had always loved the old bakery and found himself there in times of trouble. A refuge from an ongoing problem, his parents more specifically their fights. Lately, however, it had gotten worse, escalating to a possible divorce. Quill had hoped his birthday would cheer him up but, boy was he wrong. Turning 18 was a highlight he looked forward to, moving out into his own house and all that. His mother, Inkwell, was an optimistic woman with a kind heart while his father, Einsteinium, was a bit of a pessimistic man with a heart for getting things done. How the two of them even got together was a mystery. The fights had begun just when he was 14 they went from small little quarrels to full on disputes. Quill would find sanctuary at the Cocoa Nutter, sometimes receiving free cookies to cheer him up. Quill had already informed his parents about his move to Oakheart, Inkwell had protested and begged him not to leave. Einsteinium, on the other hand, muttered how it was about time for him to grow up and seemed thrilled at the announcement. Quill was glad he was moving, of course, he'd miss his friends and family. It was time for Quill to spread his wings.
