Reader Problems

I was tagged by the lovely hopeful-bibliophile

1.You have 20,000 books on your TBR. How in the world do you decide what to read next?

Whatever takes my fancy. At the moment I'm on a massive fantasy kick

2.You’re halfway through a book and you’re just not loving it. Do you quit or are you committed?

I quit, just because I'm a uni student and I have to do so much class reading that for outside class I want to read books I enjoy.

3.The end of the year is coming and you’re so close, but so far away on your Goodreads reading challenge. Do you try to catch up and how?

I try my best to catch up, but it doesn't matter if I don't.

4.The covers of a series you love do. not. match. How do you cope?

I cry.

5.Everyone and their mother loves a book you really don’t like. Who do you bond with over shared feelings?

I will find someone to complain about it with. It's pretty easy to do it if it's a course related book.  The opposite happened with To the Lighthouse - everyone except 2 people disliked it.

6.You’re reading a book and you are about to start crying in public. How do you deal?

I just cry anyway. This happened with Oberyn Martell....

7.A sequel of a book you loved just came out, but you’ve forgotten a lot from the prior novel. Will you re-read the book?

If I have the time, I will reread it (like I'm going to do with the Bone Season before the Mime Order). If not, I'll google the summary.

8.You do not want anyone. ANYONE. borrowing your books. How do you politely tell people nope when they ask?

9.You’ve picked up and put down 5 books in the last month. How do you get over your reading slump?

I find a reread generally helps

10.There are so many new books coming out that you’re dying to read! How many do you actually buy?

Maybe like 2. I am terrible at keeping up to date with series etc. I mean when I was reading the House of Night series I was like "another one????" because I was oblivious to there being so many. These days, I'm a bit more likely to preorder - like with the Mime Order and Fairest (I AM SO EXCITED FOR BOTH OF THEM, DON'T EXPECT ME TO SEE MUCH OF ME IN LATE JANUARY/EARLY FEBRUARY).

11.After you’ve bought the new books you can’t wait to get to, how long do they sit on your shelf before you get to them?

It could easily take ages. Sometimes I'll pick them up straight away if I really want to read them, like Shadow and Bone or the Lunar Chronicles
