Ain't Life Sweet | Sky and Lucifer
Most pagans irritated the ever living hell out of Lucifer. They were petty, backward wastes of space who thought they still ran this planet in spite of having been conquered more than thoroughly and living on the Almighty's sufferance. He still personally believed that letting all the little godling wanna-be's live had been an act of mercy on par with stupidity. But that had been Father's decree, so he had obeyed, because there were apparently a few that were alright to keep around. The three Fates were amongst those lofty few, and to be perfectly honest, Lucifer was sort of happy that they were. Or at least that Clotho was anyway.
He'd always had a fondness for the eldest sister. She wasn't bogged down by her work, in fact, she delighted in it which made her a nice change of pace from the usual sour doldrums, and why he was even going to speak with her. Clotho's smart assed ways held a certain appeal. And there were a very limited number of places such a personality would frequent in a town like this.
As much as the devil despised humanity and its filthy ways, the prospect of sharing company with someone who didn't want to kill him or screw him over drove Lucifer through the door of the drinking establishment. The bar, he corrected himself mentally. With the meatsuit he was currently wearing, the Devil fit in with the clientele of the place distressingly well. More's the pity, but the Morning Star shoved the thought aside, rubbing the flats of his hands against the denim of his jeans, blue eyes scanning the crowd for the telltales of Power.
And there she sat across the way, leaning against the bar, sipping on something undoubtedly sweet. Why did Clotho have to enjoy being in this type of mix so very much? Humans were beneath her, and wasn't that just the point, knowing the Fate's sense of humor. "You don't seem to be finding anything you like," Lucifer declared, leaning in close to be heard over the music and ignoring the stares he was receiving from the natives.
