"Who goes there?" She called out, immediately realising that was a dumb move. Fuck. Adra exhaled slowly, reaching out to grasp a baseball bat she had kept near the door. She could hear her own heartbeat against her eardrums. When she spotted a silhouette at the corner of her eyes, Adra swung the bat at them, yelling. In a split second, she recognised who she was trying to hit. The bat was already swinging but missed them just by a millimeter. Shocked and almost scared to death, she let the bat loose and it clattered onto the floor. "Fuck! I almost fucking hurt you!" She gathered herself, still panting. "Are you okay? I didn't get you right?"

Lighting up a cigarette, Silvana sighed and leaned back against the nearby wall, staring over at Brooks for a moment as she allowed him to respond. He was mostly right, but she wasn't about to let him know that. No chance.
"That so?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "Why do you assume that him being involved with me means he will get hurt? That's rather presumptuous and somewhat offensive, actually. I'd like to think if anything, he is more safe around me given what I can offer."

They were sitting alone, staring out the window just as she had been.
