The funny thing is Michael was really really trying to be evil, but he kind of sucked at it. When he first showed up, he was trying to be creepy and mysterious, but instead he just sounded goofy. People in the theater I was at were literally giggling. Then at the end, everything he says and does is just so stereotypically supervillain that he must have been studying superhero comics and Scooby Doo episodes to prepare for this moment. Then he's like "I'm going to continue my father's legacy by killing everyone in the town!" which makes no fucking sense because it's not at all in line with what William does. Then he's defeated before the plan even starts, so he runs away but doesn't get very far before being knocked to the floor by Jeremiah. It's incredible. Listen buddy, this just isn't for you.

Love that William being springlocked is a canon event and each time it's extremely embarrassing.

Games: He was scared by little ghost children, and his solution is to hop in The Suit That Will Kill You If It Gets Slightly Wet while he's covered in sweat and in a run down leaky building, then he laughs at them thinking he has outsmarted them.

Books: The robot daughter of his ex best friend who he envies to an unhealthy degree activates the springlocks and delivers a hard ass line using his own words against him: "You want to be one of them? Be one of them."

Movies: An animatronic cupcake takes a bite out of the suit, activating the springlocks.

One thing I love about Michael is that he acts all tough particularly when he was young but deep down he’s really silly and sweet. Like he loves soap operas and draws doodles. I imagine if you went to school with him and looked over at him during class he’d be doodling in his notebook with a stupid grin on his face. Sure he’s gonna fail the math test because he wasn’t paying attention but… check out Math Man isn’t he rad? Some of these are so childish but given this logbook is for employees he was an adult at this point and I love that after everything that’s happened he still has this side of himself. Although the effects of everything can still be seen in the logbook through jokes about bad situations and dark humor but I don’t want to talk about that right now look at Math Man. And considering he wrote in this after Sister Location based on the exotic butters and casual bongos doodles I find that especially great because like… listen to the way he sounded in his monologue… I don’t know I guess I’m saying I’m glad he still has even a tiny bit of joy in his heart.

I saw a picture of the FNAF 6 office last night and realized something I’d never thought of before.

It’s the drawings made by children. I’ve noticed the drawings before obviously but I never thought about why they were here. Michael must’ve brought them in and put them on the wall of his office. I’m certain no one else has used this office, and I don’t see why Henry would’ve decorated it. I don’t know how present Michael was during the day, or if he could interact with the kids, but I imagined him seeing their drawings and thinking they’re cute so taking them to his office to put them up. Maybe the innocence reminds him of why he’s doing this. I don’t know. Mike having a soft spot for the kiddos who visit during the day made me kind of emotional. 🥲

I feel bad for the real estate agent trying to sell the Afton house because no one is buying that shit. 😭 Could you imagine the superstition surrounding the family? People would definitely think it was a curse. "The father was the cofounder of the pizza restaurant chain where those kids went missing. He was the primary suspect and was convicted, but the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence and he was let go. Then he dropped off the face of the earth and was never heard from again. The youngest son was killed by the oldest son at his birthday party in a freak accident. The daughter went missing a a few years later and was never found. [Insert whatever happened to Mrs. Afton because it probably wasn't good]. Then around a decade later the oldest son who was the only one left went missing too, and legend has it that the last time he was ever seen, his body was rotting!"

Is anyone else genuinely struggling to wrap their head around the fact that Michael Afton was in a movie. I swear this is so surreal to me like there is absolutely nothing you could have ever done to convince me he'd ever appear directly. If you'd told me that he was going to be in the second movie anywhere between earlier this year and 2018 I would think you were joking. I'd have been like "yeah right." And the fact that he literally introduces himself by name. "I'm Michael... Michael Afton." I was literally losing my god damn mind like huhhh?? It doesn't' feel real. It's almost strange. And the funny thing is I swear no other FNAF character being implemented into the movie would have this same reaction as he did. The fandom was just going crazy and there was debate and extremely polarized reactions. I mean they put Henry and Charlie in and people were excited, but I didn't see anyone going on about how it feels weird and they never thought it would happen. If they put crying child or Elizabeth in I'm sure there would be excitement but I wouldn't find that too unbelievable, especially because Elizabeth had a direct appearance in the novels. But Michael has always just been a special case. He likes to hide more than anyone else in this franchise despite his importance, to a point where he almost felt like a ghost. So it feels like they finally got him out of his hidey hole by poking at it with a stick.

Replaying movie Michael's dialogue in my head is making me want to writhe on the floor kicking and screaming because never in a million years would I have thought I would hear the words "we will always be his" and "I'm here to continue his legacy" come out of MICHAEL AFTON'S mouth. It kind of hurts being shown a version of him that never got away. Like I am losing my mind knowing that this is how it could've gone in another life and I'd just never really thought about what that version of Michael would look like until the movie forced me to. And it's so upsetting because it's just sooooo far off from game Michael. Like it's the complete opposite of game Michael.

No matter how conflicted I am on their decision to do this, it’s hard not to feel charmed by this homonculus because I mean it’s not like it’s his fault. Also I don’t think I could hate my blorbo in any shape or form. Like even if Scott made a new FNAF universe via podcast adaptation and he made Michael the serial killer who uses the Spring Bonnie suit and everything, and I was so angry I had to be rushed to the ER, I’d still be thinking to myself “well… this is still Michael. I’ll love you no matter how out of character you are or how bad your hairstyle is.” I’d defend him if he were the serial killer too. Actually I just know the first hate post I see for Malicious Michael is going to make me crash out and activate my Michael defense mode that’s in my genetic code.
