I think it’s a bit of both, considering how the neutral end boss fight goes maybe?

 Ugh, it’s complicated for me to explain but the way I understand it is while they don’t know they’re in a game per se, certain characters are aware of how their world works which is exactly like a game. It’s basically meta is what I’m getting at I guess, I hope I make sense

anyway, I think Saves and Reset/Reloading would be seen as a superpower like you said in their world so I see what your saying

Hybern was running. Bystanders would see that he seemed to be running from something, but nothing was behind him. He kept moving, when suddenly he would trip and collide with a bystander, a small goat-like child, and cause them both to crash into the snow!
