Land of Shadows
Take my hand, my loved one We will travel long and far. We have only just discovered The land where shadows are.
We will walk together And see the world in shade That settles all around us And from shadows it is made.
Keep me close, my sweetheart For this land is large and wide I do not wish to lose you here Where the shadows quickly hide.
Leafy trees they show us. And with leafy shadows sheath We wish to know from whence they fall Where we walk underneath.
Where have you gone, beloved? I will find you some day For now I’ll search another land And leave the shadows far away
A long time we traveled there And delighted no more the same Because we wished to come upon The land from whence they came
Hold the key, my dear one For the way it will unbar To the end of all our journeys In the land where shadows are.
