CNN's Phil Mattingly jumps into an online workout with CNN Hero Scott Strode and the Phoenix community, where he sees firsthand how important these virtual connections are for people in recovery during the pandemic.
Throughout the COVID - 19 Pandemic the entire world, and especially the United States has adapted, or attempted to adapt to the situation at hand. Many people who relied on human interaction were/are left the void now, due to quarantines, self - isolations, and safety precautions put in place to keep others the same. For those battling addiction, this time alone can be extremely difficult, and here we see someone who goes above and beyond to ensure that those struggling have a place to work through those difficulties. Scott Strode is not your average hero, but be damn sure he is one that is loved by all. By creating free virtual classes that teach not only yoga and different workouts, but offer recovery meetings as well for those struggling, people are able to, in the safety of their homes, persevere and break through the walls holding them back. Because of Scott, lives are not only kept healthy, but are saved. Scott, you are a hero we do not deserve, but one we needed.
