I was so thrilled when early in the development of #theillustratedgoddess project, a friend asked to portray Medusa. Previously, I knew of her of course, but it really struck me when I was playing Poseidon last year and read how it was his rape of the Gorgon which led to her curse. Then, I read Medusa Reimagined and it all became the catalyst for asking women to reveal the #divinefeminine within themselves. Since then, I feel like a mythology scholar digging into her past and her reign during the pre- patriarchal period. Her story should be inspirational to us all.
