It’s her smile that scares people the most. That dreamy, half-dazed little curl of her lips. People say it’s inscrutable, impossible to read; say she must have cultivated it deliberately to hide what she’s really thinking -- but that’s not true. Luna isn’t trying to hide anything and the smile is an absent-minded, natural expression. That’s just how she smiles whenever she’s thinking about something interesting.
It’s just that to Luna, just about everything is interesting, and she approaches it all -- whether it be wondering whether hummingbirds can tell different flowers apart by taste and which they like better, or how many times someone can endure the Cruciatus Curse without breaking -- with the same earnest, dreamy attention...and with the same small, distracted little smile.
She has no idea it terrifies people...but she’d be interested to find out.
