I’ve never looked at that way but you’re right hiring Mike in the band could be a coping mechanism and for a way for them to play together I do also think there’s possibly some unresolved tension between them leftover from the 70s

I don't know if we'll ever get a straight answer but I hope they can all make peace eventually.
