The Last Virgin Standing [on wattpad] by laughterandjynx *STARS* 2.5/5 or 3/5 So I literally just finished this book and might I say. It was an okay book. Yeah, I may or may not have cried at the end but that's only because the author wanted to make an unnecessary sad ending. The Last Virgin Standing is about a girl named Charlotte who is, quite literally, the last virgin in her school. So now five guys are competing against each other to try and take Charlottes virginity by winning her over with their good looks and charm. Through the first couple of chapters it was cute and fun, but about half way through when she had developed feelings for ALL FIVE of the guys and it kinda left you a little confused and asking 'why?'. I mean I can understand a loves triangle but a hexagon? Really? It doesn't stay like that through out the whole book, trust me. Situations come up and the boys slowly start dropping; then you're left with two. [WARNING] Spoilers and if you haven't read the book you may not understand who is who. I'm gonna be honest, if you didn't ship Charlotte with her best friend there's something wrong with you. Luke and Charlotte were the cutest thing and I don't know why she didn't choose him to begin with. Charlotte has been in love with Luke for as long as she can remember, then when Luke confesses his feelings and says, "I love you, Charlotte" you expect her to say I love you back and then they start dating. But no! She gets all mean and rude, saying that he was part of the taking-virginities-game and I suddenly don't like you. But in the last couple of chapters when Tyler asks her to be his girlfriend she accepts him with open arms. Might I remind you, he's one of the players too. Another situation that bothered me is that the author started confusing me with the relationships after two boys were marked off. Ian was the main guy after Alec and Beckett got crossed off for a while, with the exception of best friend time with Luke. Then when Luke confessed his love Charlotte got made for no reason and didn't talk to him for about a month, she went back to him and told him she liked him so now they were a "thing". But Charlotte just turns around and starts going on dates with Ian. The main girl can be very confusing and kind of annoying. I just didn't understand sometimes but kept reading because I wanted to know who she ended up with. To my disappointment it wasn't Luke. Now here comes the ending that was totally unnecessary! I don't know what compelled the author to write such an ending. What voice in her head told her it was a good idea to kill off the best friend? If she was looking for a plot twist she could have gone with Charlotte not ending up with any of the boys and graduating her senior year just to meet some hot nice guy in college. But her ending was kind of cliché just because the author wanted some dramatic ending. Now I mentioned earlier that I may have cried, which is true, but you have to understand she was killing off the guy I shipped Charlotte with and I'm very sensitive when it comes to books. This concluding, it was an okay book that I somewhat enjoyed, but was rather disappointed.
