REVIEW The Light We Lost - Jill Santoplo 🌟💫 I so wanted to like this book, according to the synopsis it had everything I love in a story; romance, drama, humour, sadness - I was told that I would ‘cry me eyes out’ reading this. I didn’t! I was bored! Not sure what else I can really say (which is a bad sign in itself). The story is about Lucy and Gabe who meet on 9/11 in New York, and how they continue to influence each other’s lives from that moment. The potential for this book is there - it could have been great. Unfortunately I really struggled to connect with the characters (who were so self involved it was painful). Because of this I had no sympathy when the inevitable ending finally happened.
