Week 52 Theme: Anniversary

We’re back, once again—welcome to another week at the Kylux Cantina! This marks a full official year that the Cantina has been open, so to celebrate— 

This week’s theme is: Anniversary

Please send all prompts related to this theme to our askbox (anon is on).

Responding to the theme of Anniversary, you could prompt any number of general ideas associated with anniversaries and celebrations like “champagne,” “gifts,” “forgetting an anniversary,” “date night,” “inaugural,” “memorial,” “gold,” “diamonds,” etc. Feel free to think even more broadly about the prompt theme in terms what Armitage Hux and Kylo Ren could (or could not be) celebrating as an anniversary, and don’t forget that we also accept images, excerpts of poetry, or song lyrics!

Kind reminder that the Kylux Cantina isn’t a headcanon community, it’s a community designed to encourage creative writing and art from as many angles as possible. Please keep your prompts open-ended, to ensure inventive drabble/drawble responses from multiple authors/artists; don’t send full story outlines or fleshed-out headcanons.

Do you know what today is? IT’S OUR ANNIVERSARY!!!!

Welcome, everyone to the event that has been a solid year in the making: the 52nd Finnrey Friday!

The blog’s 1-year birthday was a couple of days earlier but even earlier than that - in early 2016, in fact -  the amazing @notfornothingx had an idea: the Finnrey fandom was at a low ebb, with content being swamped with ... other stuff, even in the Finnrey tags! So why not carve out a time each week to celebrate Finnrey and encourage people to create wonderful items to bolster the tag and the spirits of Finnrey fans? When she was ready to make the dream a reality, the incredible @crayolasaurus (and myself) came on as mods, and we had help from every corner of the fandom. It was clear that Finnrey Fridays were going to be a success and away we went.

And so here we are, and you all are, having weathered the trials and tribulations of fandom. A solid year of Finnrey Fridays that have just gotten bigger and bigger! We could not have done it without the continued efforts of content creators, and those cheering us on. We are celebrating this milestone because of all of YOU. All of you were determined that Finnrey Fridays were not going to flop, and on behalf of my fellow mods, we cannot thank you enough for your continued support!

OK, so this is a special day with special themes chosen by your votes: “AU” and “Sexy.” But as always, any content is welcome, regardless of theme.

Later, each of us three mods will be posting a short statement of what Finnrey Friday has meant to us over this past year. We’d love to hear from you guys, too! It isn’t too surprising an answer, but it isn’t what Neil expected either. Nicky, who had always been so confident and outgoing to a fault and so ready to take any situation in stride, feeling uncertain about something was an image kind of difficult to conjure.

The cousins have graduated, and with Andrew gone Neil finds himself missing him more than ever. He calls the one person who understands more than anyone the difficulties of being in a long distance relationship.

kylo loves anniversaries. he keeps a note with all the important anniversaries he's had with hux. and they're all very important. to kylo. first kiss, first time they slept in the same bed, first oral sex (given and recieved have different dates), first fight, first date, first fancy date, etc.
