KNB MONSTERVERSE(S) #21
💤 Mayuzumi Chihiro (黛 千尋) ↬ “Farm on sunny days, read on rainy days.” The realm of your mind is a vulnerable place, Full of nebulous thoughts, a constellation in space— No matter how many times you manage to escape, It comes back to haunt you and takes a new shape. Sometimes it comes to you in the form of a dream, But what starts as a fantasy ends in a scream, Every kaleidoscope of color turns charcoal black, A trenchant void of achromic motion you can't track. A voice occasionally speaks to you inside your head, A nameless stranger who injects you with lead— He tells you countless things you'd rather not know, About the wind and the rain and blood in the snow. You can drink tea or warm milk or try sleeping pills, But not a night goes by that doesn't end in chills, You wake up in bed with the sheets drenched in sweat, An explicit vision in your mind that you can't forget. He calls out to you from many miles away, You beg him to leave but he tells you to stay— His grip is merciless and crushing your breath, As you fall asleep and sink into a river of death. He wraps you in silk and creeps down to you bones, Touches you with hangman hands that feel like stone, His tone sounds like static coming through the stereo, Electric illusion that has you praying for a new scenario. The baneful and barbaric are hunting those who are weak, Cutting up their limbs and stealing their ability to speak— They pull them down to hell and rape their eternal light, Until the fragile scatter their sanity and lose their will to fight. A new mother cries with a baby down the hall, An old father dies for reasons you can't recall, The devil is knocking at your back door again, As God turns his back on another devout amen. He keeps your secrets in his cold bloodstream, Digs into your thread and tears apart the seams— Corruption has no limits and he knows no bounds, A king living in the starless obscurity he expounds. He is a proponent of moonlight necrosis, Getting drunk on agony in large doses, It's fair to say that he knows nothing else, But he never flees where the baseline melts. He comes into the suspension of your sleep, His hands moving through your water's deep— He gives you his love as you slip through his hands, Stranded in an inky cosmos between two lands. ☾ Halloween Song: “Dark Matter” by Les Friction
